Generation Rent Open Mic elevates tenant voice
Thanks to all the renters who attended our recent event, Generation Rent, held over the 2023 Labour Day weekend. We listened and heard the compelling stories that renters shared with us, stories that will help inform our ongoing advocacy to improve laws and conditions for renters.
Our one-off event highlighted the ‘renters voice’ through an ‘open mic’ session which was hosted by Tenants Victoria’s Director of Community Engagement Farah Farouque. She was joined by The Age property reporter Jim Malo.
Renters certainly did not hold back and the event, part of the MPavilion series of events staged in the park opposite Melbourne’s Arts Centre, received comprehensive coverage from the ABC. Check out the ABC news reports below:
